Samaritan's
Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization
providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around
the world. Since 1970, Samaritan's Purse has helped meet
needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural
disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing
God's love through His son, Jesus Christ. The organization
serves the church worldwide to promote the Gospel of the
Lord Jesus Christ.

Be A Volunteer
By working with volunteer teams, Samaritan's Purse is able
to bring relief quickly to those who are suffering—wherever they
may be. Volunteer teams can assist in two ways:
Domestic Service–helping on short notice with cleanup in the
aftermath of hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, or other natural disasters
within the United States, primarily in the Southeast.
International Service–helping as needed with overseas construction
projects sponsored by Samaritan's Purse. Teams of 8-12 members are
ideal. If appropriate accommodations are available, both males and
females may participate. Members must be at least 18 years old.
Teams are responsible for all costs associated with their service,
although whenever possible, Samaritan's Purse will help to arrange
on-site room, board, and transportation. Because coordinating and
contacting hundreds of individual volunteers would hinder us in
responding to disasters quickly, we are now only registering teams.
If your church is interested in forming such a team, please e-mail
your street address to disasterresponse@samaritan.org,
and we will send you a team application and an overview brochure
and video. Samaritan’s Purse is not a mission-sending agency, and
apart from these opportunities, our headquarters in North Carolina
does not offer mission trips for churches, youth, or other groups.
Student Internship
The student internship program enables a limited number of college
and university students to spend eight to ten weeks at Samaritan’s
Purse international project sites. If you would like to receive
information on the 2002 program, please e-mail tharmon@samaritan.org.
Field Staff
Whenever Samaritan's Purse sets up field offices in response
to international crises, they need individuals at those sites to
carry out project-related work. Generally, they begin with four
basic positions: Country Director, Logistics Coordinator, Office
Manager, and Bookkeeper. Depending on the scope of the project,
they may also seek to fill other positions such as Procurement,
Shelter, Medical, Evangelism, Supply Distribution, and Community
Outreach Coordinators; Transportation and Warehouse Managers; Administrative
Assistants; Mechanics; Architects and Engineers; Contractors and
Builders; and Physicians and Nurses.
Pray
Because the goal of all the work at Samaritan's Purse is introducing
lost souls to the Savior Jesus Christ, the prayers of God's people
are vital to the success of their projects around the world. You
can learn what specific needs they need you to pray for by going
to their Urgent
Prayer website or by reading their magazine, PrayerPoint.
Give
Your contributions can help to fund the many projects and services
Samaritan's Purse maintains throughout the world. Effect the lives
of millions of people by giving to those in need. You can Donate
